CHANGE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO WRITING

WE GIVE YOU THE HABITS, MINDSET, AND SUPPORT YOU NEED TO PUBLISH WHAT YOU WANT TO PUBLISH.

Our Signature Program

TRANSFORM YOUR WRITING PRACTICE

Our flagship program is for all academics in all disciplines at all career stages. You want to get cited, get invited, get promoted, and establish your research as a conversation starter. Transform gives you the habits and mindsets you need to craft publications that will do that.

Our approach is different from other faculty development programs. You won't be stuck in a group of randomly assigned people from unrelated fields. Instead, you have a  personal relationship with your coach. And focus on what you want to write, what's getting in the way, and what drives you to invest so much in this work.

Our rubric is simple. Just 3 habits and 3 methods. But with lasting change. We help you get more done, enjoy doing it, and see yourself and your work in a whole new light.

Questions

Answers

  • Anyone who has academic writing goals. Faculty, administrators, independent scholars, and Ph.D. candidates writing their dissertation.

  • We start by working individually, not in a group. We match you with a coach who best fits your interests, background, and location. And we pride ourselves on helping our clients find real intellectual and writerly joy in their craft, rather than just "getting it done." We enjoy helping you feel excited to bring your best work to your most engaged readers, not your harshest critics.

  • We recommend 1-2 months. Transform starts on the 1st of every month (except in October and January, when it starts on the 15th). And we sometimes have a waiting list of 1-2 months. Allow at least two weeks for the onboarding process.

  • Transform is all about creating better habits and mindsets. Advance is about keeping them going. But we would be happy to give you more hands-on help in Idea Therapy, Propose, Revise, or Polish.

  • Mostly likely, yes — as long as you’ve finished Transform first. Transform is similar to a foundation course that gives everyone a shared language. Our groups are capped at 6, but usually there is no more than one month’s wait for a spot to open.  Your group will help you hold on to those habits while moving your writing forward.

  • Our groups are about building community and collaborating rather than competing.  Many members make long-term friendships, sometimes meeting up in person or sending important updates after they've left. Especially with our Public Scholars group, there is an amazing fire and an exchange of resources because you quickly see how many important things you have in common. Many members stick with their group for years.

  • As long as you want to. Think about it as a monthly membership. It continues indefinitely until you feel ready to fly solo.

  • Gather a group of friends and colleagues and split the investment with a customized Transform group workshop. Or ask your institution to do it for you and others in your department. Contact us to find out how to get the support you want for your writing.
